Areas of Practice

Automobile Accidents

We handle a wide range of breach of contract cases for businesses of all sizes (and often for individual clients, as well).  The clients we represent in breach of contract cases – litigated in state and federal courts – include logistics companies, retail businesses, sports equipment manufacturers, law firms and professional service companies.

Slip and Falls

When business owners fail to clean up spills or other slippery surfaces, ice, debris or otherwise fail to keep their premises safe, they may be liable for injuries that occur in a slip-and-fall accident.  We hold business owners accountable and make sure our injured clients are fairly compensated for injuries suffered in slip and fall cases.

Trip and Falls

In New York, people often get hurt while walking on uneven or broken sidewalks, broken parking lots, broken stairways or as a result of other hazards.  We handle many trip and fall cases and fight hard to protect the interests of our injured clients in such cases.

Construction Accidents/Labor Law

When a property owner or contractor violates specific rules and regulations designed to prevent construction accidents and a worker sustains injuries as a result, they can be held responsible. We handle a large variety of construction accident cases against building owners and general contractors where workers sustain serious injuries as a result of falls from ladders, scaffolds, falling objects and unsafe work conditions.

Unfortunately, our medical providers and nursing home caretakers do not always live up to the accepted standards of care they are required to.  We have represented many clients over the years who were seriously injured or died as a result of medical malpractice or nursing home negligence, including cases involving failures to properly and timely diagnose breast cancer, ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, aortic aneurysms, failures to properly and timely diagnose infections and sepsis, wrongful death cases, negligent surgical care, medical care and orthopaedic care, and failures to treat bed sores, ulcers and nursing home falls.  In this practice area, in particular, we will not rest until the wrongdoers are held accountable and our clients fully compensated for their injuries.

Medical Malpractice and Nursing Home Cases

Due to our reputation, we have been hired to represent property owners in a wide variety of injury cases and have had tremendous success. The opportunity to see both sides of litigation afford us unique advantages.

Defense cases

We handle all types of automobile accident cases, including hit-in-the rear car accidents, T-bone accidents (where the front of a vehicle strikes the side of another car), pedestrian knock down cases (where a person is struck by a car while crossing the street), truck accidents, bicycle accidents and unsafe roadway cases.  Our negotiating skills and courtroom experience with automobile accident cases are impressive.

Breach of Contract

Commercial Fraud

Our litigators have successfully represented investors in multi-million dollar fraud cases, having taken such cases to verdict in state and federal court.  Dovetailing with another firm practice area (judgment enforcement), efforts to collect against one particular judgment debtor in a large fraud case were international.  Many millions of dollars were ultimately collected.

Receivables Collection

Among all commercial practice areas, we have a unique specialty in the area of receivables collection.  For decades, we have represented businesses, notably law firms and other professional service companies, in collecting unpaid bills (often quite large).  Cognizant, in this area, of the malpractice minefield, we carefully review each case to ensure there is no counter exposure to our clients.

Our personal injury lawyers work on a “contingency fee basis,” which simply means the firm earns no fee unless we recover money on our client’s behalf. If there is no recovery, no fee is owed.
